Carolyn A. Cutney, MD
Dr. Cutney is originally from Fairfield, Connecticut, where she graduated from Fairfield High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University, where she was on the Dean’s list. She earned her medical degree (M.D.) from Jefferson Medical College, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honor medical society.
Dr. Cutney completed a transitional internship at Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She then returned to Philadelphia for her ophthalmology residency training at Wills Eye Hospital. Along with her colleagues, she updated the Wills Eye Manual, the premier ophthalmology reference for ophthalmologists and emergency physicians. She currently actively mentors residents in the cataract clinic and teaches cataract surgery to the next generation of eye surgeons at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
A Board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Cutney performs cataract surgery and laser procedures at the Wills Eye Surgery Center in Cherry Hill. She is fully compliant with the American Board of Ophthalmology Maintenance of Certification program. Areas of special interest include minimizing spectacle dependence after cataract surgery, treatment of glaucoma, and management of ocular surface disorders including dry eye syndrome. She is fully trained in the use of presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses, including Tecnis multifocal, Restor, and Crystalens implants. She can truly customize your cataract surgery by discussing astigmatism correction options with you, including toric intraocular lens implants or limbal relaxing incisions.
Caring for her three children is Dr. Cutney’s other job. Her outside interests include photography, knitting, and skiing.
