Carolyn Cutney, MD, LLC
Dear Prospective Patient,
My name is Dr. Cutney and I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.
I grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University. Acceptance to Jefferson Medical College brought me to Philadelphia in 1995, and I thought I would be here in this area for four years, but here I still am, almost 25 years later! I left Philadelphia for a year to complete my internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colorado, then I returned to Philadelphia for ophthalmology residency training at Wills Eye Hospital.
After residency, I was part of a group ophthalmology practice for nine years, then I decided to open a solo practice in 2013. It was a tremendous leap for me, but I love the personal nature of the new practice, as well as the flexibility it affords.
I love being an ophthalmologist because it allows me to have a meaningful impact on people's lives. I enjoy getting to know my patients as individuals and trying to understand their visual needs. Many people are frightened that they may some day lose their sight, and I do my best to detect different vision-threatening conditions early so that the patient can take steps to preserve their visual function. I frequently find myself asking the question, "What would I want done for my own eyes, or my loved one's eyes, in this situation?" In addition, patient education is an important part of the office visit, and I explain a patient's conditions in plain English, answering any questions that he or she may have along the way. From something as simple as arriving at the correct eyeglass prescription to more complicated solutions like refractive cataract surgery, satisfied patients are what bring me joy on a daily basis.
I am fortunate to have a kind and supportive staff who enjoy patient care as much as I do. We hope you will call the office for an appointment today!
Sincerely,
Carolyn Cutney, M.D.

Patient testimonials
"She's undeniably transformed my life"
“After many years of ever increasing strength prescription glasses and contacts Dr Cutney restored my vision to 20/20 with Lasik! Imagine waking up in the morning and being able to see without glasses or contacts! She’s undeniably transformed my life and enabled me to do things I haven't been able to do in years."

"Without her, I might have gone blind"
I have been a patient of Dr. Carolyn Cutney's for the past ten years, while she was working at another practice. She was the only doctor to discover I have glaucoma, she has been treating me for it successfully ever since. Without her, I might have gone blind.
She just opened her own office and I highly recommend her as an Ophthalmologist. Besides being very knowledgeable in her field, she is a very caring person who takes the time to hear your concerns.
I wish her well in her new practice and know she will be a success.
